  • Another danger of the Keto diet is that following this diet can make our liver dysfunctional. This is because breaking down fats and proteins to make glucose puts extra pressure on the liver. Resulting in high levels of ammonia.

As a result, the keto diet produces extra ketone body and it is excreted through the kidneys. Excess ketones put pressure on the kidneys which can lead to kidney dysfunction.
